I had been feeling homesick for a while. So, my husband brought me here on my birthday as a surprise! It was an amazing experience to say the least. Both the food and the service were excellent. We ordered their Mango Lassi, Chicken Samosas, and Beef Tehari. The manager/owner was very friendly and welcoming and when I told him I was from Bangladesh, he served us some Dal Puris on the house! All the food we had were delicious and tasted authentic! However, my favorite were the Dal puris and the Beef Tehari! I had some Tehari leftover and it tasted great even on the next day when I reheated it in the microwave. Overall, I had a wholesome experience and if I lived closer, I would come here more often! I will definitely be coming back eventually!

When I visited DC, I was craving authentic Bangladeshi food and finally found Aladdin. I actually traveled from DC to Virginia just for their food! I ordered teheri, biryani, Mughlai chicken roast, beef haleem, Jali kabab and tea. The food truly reminded me of home — it smelled and tasted like real Bangladeshi cooking. The teheri had good flavor, but I only found two or three small pieces of meat — the rest was mostly rice (disappointing). It tasted nice, but they should definitely add more meat. The biryani was perfect, and the haleem was absolutely delicious. The chicken roast flavor was good too, though it seemed like it had been pre-cooked and reheated in the microwave when we ordered — that made it lose some of its original taste and texture. I think avoiding the microwave would really keep the food more authentic. I also ordered a tea, and they kindly gave me a complimentary one — that gesture and their hospitality were wonderful. Overall, my expectations were mostly met — the flavors took me back to Bangladesh, just wish the teheri had more meat and the food was freshly heated. Rating: 4/5 Highlights: Biryani, Haleem, Hospitality Needs Improvement: Teheri portion balance, microwave reheating

Great experience! We had beef halim, chicken roast with polao, ilish bhuna and tea. The beef halim was the highlight, it had truly authentic Bangladeshi taste. The chicken roast with polao and ilish bhuna were delicious, and the tea was perfect to end the meal. Customer service was also very good. The lady who served us was friendly and welcoming. Overall, everything was fresh and satisfying. Highly recommended!

We initially came here for Bangladeshi groceries and noticed the restaurant was open, so we decided to give it a try since it was already dinner time and we’re glad we did! We ordered the Tehari, chicken kebab, and naan. The Tehari was absolutely delicious! Both of my kids loved it. The kebab was decent, and the mint chutney was very good. The place was clean, including the washroom, which is a rare find in Bangladeshi restaurants. The lady serving us was very friendly, and the owner was also welcoming. Overall, we had a wonderful experience!

We recently visited Aladdin Restaurant in Washington, DC, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience for anyone who loves authentic Bengali food. From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere that reminded me of home-style dining. The staff were polite, friendly, and very attentive, making sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. I ordered several Bengali dishes, and every item was full of rich flavor and traditional taste. The rice was fresh and perfectly cooked, the curries were well-balanced with spices, and the fish and meat dishes were tender and delicious. The bhorta, dal, and vegetable items tasted just like homemade food, which is hard to find in many restaurants. The aroma and presentation of the food made the experience even better. What I loved most was the authenticity. You can truly feel that the chefs understand Bengali cuisine and prepare each dish with care. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and taste. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and suitable for families, friends, or even solo dining. Whether you are missing Bangladeshi flavors or simply want to explore traditional Bengali food, this place is a great choice. Overall, Aladdin Restaurant is a hidden gem in DC for Bengali food lovers. I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back again.
